Where will my chauffeur meet me at JFK?
Your Penn Station ride starts at the JFK terminal. The chauffeur tracks your flight, so the pickup moves with the landing time. - Add your airline and flight number when you book. The chauffeur tracks the flight from takeoff.
- After landing, collect your bags and call 888-887-0324 or the chauffeur number in your booking.
- At Terminals 1, 4 and 8, walk out to the arrivals curb. At Terminals 5 and 7, take the free AirTrain to the Howard Beach lot, where the car meets you.
- With meet and greet ($25), the chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name sign and walks you to the car.

Any toll, taxes and fees are in the price, and gratuity is optional. For a taxi comparison, check the current fares on the jfkairport.com taxi page; tolls, tip and other fees are extra. The LIRR runs from Jamaica to Penn Station, covered below.
How long is the drive from JFK to Penn Station?
Without traffic, JFK to Penn Station is about 31 minutes and 17.5 to 18 miles, by routing estimates for the two trips below. The Van Wyck and the tunnel approach are the slow parts at rush hour, and 34th Street crosstown traffic adds more. If you are catching a train, build in a buffer.
| Trip | Distance | Drive time without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 5 to The New Yorker Hotel | 17.7 mi | about 31 min (estimate) |
| Terminal 4 to Moynihan Train Hall | 18.2 mi | about 31 min (estimate) |
Drive times are estimates (OSRM free-flow routing with no traffic, checked Oct 30, 2026). Traffic varies, and rush hour, weather, tunnel delays and airport construction add time.
Which route does the chauffeur take, and what tolls apply?
From JFK, the chauffeur takes the Van Wyck Expressway north to the Long Island Expressway and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, which comes out in the East 30s. From there, 34th Street or a parallel street crosses town to Seventh and Eighth Avenues. If the tunnel is slow, the Queensboro Bridge is the alternative.
| Road or crossing | What it does on this trip | Toll |
|---|---|---|
| Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) | North from the JFK terminals | No toll |
| Long Island Expressway (I-495) | West to the tunnel | No toll |
| Queens-Midtown Tunnel | Into the East 30s | MTA toll in both directions |
| 34th Street crosstown | East Side to Penn Station and Moynihan | No toll |
The MTA tolls the Queens-Midtown Tunnel in both directions (MTA), and the toll is in your price. Penn Station is inside the MTA Congestion Relief Zone, so the $0.75 black car charge per trip applies (MTA). That is in the price too.
Car service, LIRR or taxi from JFK to Penn Station?
The LIRR is the direct rail option to Penn Station. Take the AirTrain to Jamaica, then the LIRR to Penn Station with a CityTicket; both fares are on JFK's public transport page. It is quick with light bags. A car goes from the terminal to the station entrance you choose, without the Jamaica change.
| Option | Door to door | Transfers | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private car service | Yes, terminal to the station entrance | None | Bags, families, a tight train connection |
| AirTrain and LIRR | Yes, into Penn Station | AirTrain, then LIRR | Light luggage |
| AirTrain and E train | Near: 34th Street-Penn Station | AirTrain, then subway | Light luggage, flexible time |
| Taxi | Yes, from the taxi stand | None | No booking; set fare plus tolls, tip and fees |

Moynihan Train Hall or Penn Station: where should I get out?
Penn Station has two main halls on opposite sides of Eighth Avenue. Moynihan Train Hall, on the west side, serves Amtrak and LIRR passengers. The original station under Madison Square Garden serves the LIRR and NJ TRANSIT, with entrances on Seventh and Eighth Avenues. Tell us your train and we pick the entrance.
| Taking | Tell us |
|---|---|
| Amtrak | Moynihan Train Hall, Eighth Avenue |
| LIRR | Moynihan Train Hall or the Seventh Avenue side, by your track |
| NJ TRANSIT | Penn Station, Seventh Avenue entrance |
| A hotel such as The New Yorker | The hotel name, Eighth Avenue at 34th Street |
I have an Amtrak train after my flight. How much time should I allow?
Plan the ride around the train, not the landing. Add time for bags, customs on international flights and the drive, then a buffer before departure. Amtrak boards before departure, so if the gap is tight, tell us the train time in the notes and choose an SUV if you have several bags.
How does waiting time work?
Waiting time depends on the pickup. Home, hotel and office pickups have a 15-minute grace period, after which waiting time applies. Airport arrivals have a 60-minute wait time after a domestic landing and a 90-minute wait time after an international landing, counted from when the flight lands, and every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so an early or late flight moves your pickup with it.
| Pickup type | Grace period or wait time |
|---|---|
| Regular pickup (home, hotel, office) | 15 minutes |
| Domestic flight arrival | 60 minutes after landing |
| International flight arrival | 90 minutes after landing |
| Flight tracking | Included on airport pickups |
See the wait time policy for the full terms, and add meet and greet if you want the chauffeur inside the terminal.
Match the vehicle to passengers and luggage.
Match the vehicle to your group and bags. An Executive Sedan seats 2 and a Luxury Sedan seats 3, for light luggage. Both SUV classes seat 6 and suit families or travelers with large suitcases making a train connection. For a group arriving together, the Jet Sprinter seats 10 and the Executive Sprinter seats 13.
| Vehicle class | Passengers | Child seats | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | Up to 2 | Not available | One or two riders with light luggage |
| Luxury Sedan | Up to 3 | Not available | Clients and special nights for up to three |
| Executive SUV | Up to 6 | Available | Families, bags and small groups |
| Luxury SUV | Up to 6 | Available | Small groups who want the top SUV class |
| Executive Sprinter | Up to 13 | Available | Larger groups, quoted on request |
| Jet Sprinter | Up to 10 | Available | Groups who want the lounge cabin, quoted on request |
For larger groups, mini coaches and coaches are quoted on request. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles, including Sprinters, can be arranged with advance notice, so tell us when you book.
Are child seats available?
Yes. We stock all kinds of child seats: infant, convertible and booster. Seats are $25 each and go in SUVs and Sprinters only, not sedans. In an Executive SUV or Luxury SUV you can add a maximum of 2 child seats per direction; for more seats, talk to us about a Sprinter before you book.
| Add-on | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Child seat | $25 each | SUVs and Sprinters only, not sedans |
| Meet and greet | $25 | Added to an airport arrival |
| Dedicated greeter | $150 | Added to an airport arrival |

Read the child seat policy and our family car service page.
Can I book a multi-leg trip?
Yes. A multi-leg trip puts several stops or legs on one booking, such as a bag drop at a Midtown hotel before an evening train from Moynihan. Add each stop at /book and the all-in price covers the whole trip. If the car should wait at a stop, hourly service at $120 per hour, 3-hour minimum, may fit better.
