Where will my chauffeur meet me at JFK?
Your Grand Central ride starts at the JFK terminal. The chauffeur tracks your flight, so the pickup moves with the landing time. At Terminals 1, 4 and 8, the car meets you at the arrivals curb once you have your bags. At Terminals 5 and 7, take the free AirTrain to the Howard Beach lot, where the chauffeur meets you.
- Add your airline and flight number when you book. The chauffeur tracks the flight from takeoff.
- After landing, collect your bags and call 888-887-0324 or the chauffeur number in your booking.
- At Terminals 1, 4 and 8, walk out to the arrivals curb. At Terminals 5 and 7, take the free AirTrain to the Howard Beach lot, where the car meets you.
- With meet and greet ($25), the chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name sign and walks you to the car.

The table shows example all-in prices from /book for two arrivals on a weekday morning: Terminal 4 to Grand Central Terminal on 42nd Street, and Terminal 8 to The Westin New York Grand Central, a block east on 42nd Street.
| Trip | Executive Sedan | Executive SUV | Luxury SUV | Luxury Sedan | Sprinters |

Example prices from our booking engine, October 2026. Taxes, tolls and fees included; gratuity optional. Your exact price is shown before you book.
Any toll, taxes and fees are in the price, and gratuity is optional. For a taxi comparison, check the current fares on the jfkairport.com taxi page; tolls, tip and other fees are extra. JFK also warns that construction can slow terminal pickups.
How long is the drive from JFK to Grand Central?
Without traffic, JFK to Grand Central is about 26 to 28 minutes and 16.5 to 17.5 miles, by routing estimates for the two trips below. The Queens-Midtown Tunnel comes out a few blocks south of the station, so there is little crosstown driving. The Van Wyck and the expressway are slow at rush hour.
| Trip | Distance | Drive time without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 4 to Grand Central Terminal | 17.4 mi | about 28 min (estimate) |
| Terminal 8 to The Westin New York Grand Central | 16.7 mi | about 26 min (estimate) |
Drive times are estimates (OSRM free-flow routing with no traffic, checked Oct 30, 2026). Traffic varies, and rush hour, weather, tunnel delays and airport construction add time.
Which route does the chauffeur take, and what tolls apply?
From JFK, the chauffeur takes the Van Wyck Expressway north to the Long Island Expressway and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, which comes out near East 36th Street. From there it is a few blocks up Park or Lexington Avenue to 42nd Street. If the tunnel is slow, the Queensboro Bridge is the alternative.
| Road or crossing | What it does on this trip | Toll |
|---|---|---|
| Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) | North from the JFK terminals | No toll |
| Long Island Expressway (I-495) | West to the tunnel | No toll |
| Queens-Midtown Tunnel | Into the East 30s | MTA toll in both directions |
| Park or Lexington Avenue | Last blocks up to 42nd Street | No toll |
The MTA tolls the Queens-Midtown Tunnel in both directions (MTA), and the toll is in your price. Grand Central is inside the MTA Congestion Relief Zone, so the $0.75 black car charge per trip applies (MTA). That is in the price too.
Car service, LIRR or taxi from JFK to Grand Central?
The LIRR now runs to Grand Central Madison, beneath Grand Central. Take the AirTrain to Jamaica, then the LIRR with a CityTicket; both fares are on JFK's public transport page. It is a good option with light bags. A car goes from the terminal to the entrance you choose, without the change.
| Option | Door to door | Transfers | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private car service | Yes, terminal to the entrance you choose | None | Bags, families, a train connection |
| AirTrain and LIRR | Yes, into Grand Central Madison | AirTrain, then LIRR | Light luggage |
| AirTrain and subway | No | AirTrain, then one or two trains | Light luggage, flexible time |
| Taxi | Yes, from the taxi stand | None | No booking; set fare plus tolls, tip and fees |

Which Grand Central entrance should I choose?
Grand Central has several street entrances, and the right one depends on where you go next. The main 42nd Street entrance suits the Main Concourse and Metro-North. The Lexington Avenue side is closer to The Westin and East Side offices. For the LIRR, Grand Central Madison is below the station, with entrances near Madison Avenue.
| Going to | Tell us |
|---|---|
| Metro-North trains and the Main Concourse | Grand Central, 42nd Street entrance |
| LIRR trains at Grand Central Madison | Grand Central Madison, Madison Avenue side |
| The Westin New York Grand Central | The hotel name, 212 E 42nd St |
| Offices on Park or Lexington Avenue | The building address and lobby entrance |
I am connecting to a Metro-North train after my flight. How much time should I allow?
Plan the ride around the train, not the landing. Add time for bags, customs on international flights and the drive, then a buffer before departure. Metro-North trains leave on time, so if the gap is tight, tell us the train time in the notes and choose an SUV for several bags.
How does waiting time work?
Waiting time depends on the pickup. Home, hotel and office pickups have a 15-minute grace period, after which waiting time applies. Airport arrivals have a 60-minute wait time after a domestic landing and a 90-minute wait time after an international landing, counted from when the flight lands, and every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so an early or late flight moves your pickup with it.
| Pickup type | Grace period or wait time |
|---|---|
| Regular pickup (home, hotel, office) | 15 minutes |
| Domestic flight arrival | 60 minutes after landing |
| International flight arrival | 90 minutes after landing |
| Flight tracking | Included on airport pickups |
See the wait time policy for the full terms, and add meet and greet if you want the chauffeur inside the terminal.
Match the vehicle to passengers and luggage.
Match the vehicle to your group and bags. An Executive Sedan seats 2 and a Luxury Sedan seats 3, for light luggage. Both SUV classes seat 6 and suit families or travelers with large suitcases making a train connection. For a group arriving together, the Jet Sprinter seats 10 and the Executive Sprinter seats 13.
| Vehicle class | Passengers | Child seats | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | Up to 2 | Not available | One or two riders with light luggage |
| Luxury Sedan | Up to 3 | Not available | Clients and special nights for up to three |
| Executive SUV | Up to 6 | Available | Families, bags and small groups |
| Luxury SUV | Up to 6 | Available | Small groups who want the top SUV class |
| Executive Sprinter | Up to 13 | Available | Larger groups, quoted on request |
| Jet Sprinter | Up to 10 | Available | Groups who want the lounge cabin, quoted on request |
For larger groups, mini coaches and coaches are quoted on request. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles, including Sprinters, can be arranged with advance notice, so tell us when you book.
Are child seats available?
Yes. We stock all kinds of child seats: infant, convertible and booster. Seats are $25 each and go in SUVs and Sprinters only, not sedans. In an Executive SUV or Luxury SUV you can add a maximum of 2 child seats per direction; for more seats, talk to us about a Sprinter before you book.
| Add-on | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Child seat | $25 each | SUVs and Sprinters only, not sedans |
| Meet and greet | $25 | Added to an airport arrival |
| Dedicated greeter | $150 | Added to an airport arrival |
Example prices from our booking engine, October 2026. Taxes, tolls and fees included; gratuity optional. Your exact price is shown before you book.
Read the child seat policy and our family car service page.
Can I book a multi-leg trip?
Yes. A multi-leg trip puts several stops or legs on one booking, such as a bag drop at an East Midtown hotel before a Metro-North train. Add each stop at /book and the all-in price covers the whole trip. If the car should wait at a stop, hourly service at $120 per hour, 3-hour minimum, may fit better.
