Tri-State Car Service: America's Largest Metro, One Chauffeur
The NYC tri-state area -- spanning New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut -- is home to over 20 million people across 27 counties, generating a GDP of roughly $1.9 trillion that would rank as the world's 10th-largest economy. Every weekday, 1.6 million people commute into Manhattan from suburbs in three states, crossing some of the most congested infrastructure in North America: the George Washington Bridge (282,000 vehicles daily, the busiest motor vehicle bridge in the world), three Hudson River tunnels, and the notorious Cross Bronx Expressway.
Navigating this region requires more than GPS. The Merritt Parkway bans all commercial vehicles including Sprinter vans. The Holland Tunnel has a 12'6" height clearance -- lower than the Lincoln Tunnel's 13 feet. The Cross Bronx Expressway regularly turns 5 miles into a 45-minute crawl. And choosing between the GWB, Lincoln Tunnel, or Holland Tunnel for a New Jersey trip depends on your exact Manhattan origin, NJ destination, time of day, and vehicle type. Our chauffeurs know all of it.
Whether you need a flat-rate airport transfer from Greenwich to JFK, an hourly chauffeur for a day of meetings spanning Stamford, White Plains, and Midtown, corporate transportation along the I-287 pharmaceutical corridor, or a reliable pickup from MetLife Stadium after a Giants game, True North VIP provides vetted chauffeurs, upfront pricing, and routing expertise that covers every corner of three states. For a detailed breakdown of every town and drive time, see our complete tri-state coverage guide.

Cross-State Routing Intelligence
The tri-state area has more crossing options, vehicle restrictions, and traffic variables than any other metro in America. Here is what our chauffeurs know that GPS does not.
GWB / Lincoln / Holland Selection
The George Washington Bridge (282,000 vehicles/day) connects to Bergen County and northern NJ via I-80/I-95. The Lincoln Tunnel (170,000 vehicles/day, three tubes) serves Midtown-to-Hudson County and the Meadowlands. The Holland Tunnel (85,000 vehicles/day) connects Lower Manhattan to Jersey City and EWR. Your chauffeur checks all three crossings and selects based on your origin, destination, and real-time delays -- often switching mid-route.
Merritt Parkway Restrictions
The Merritt Parkway (38 miles, Greenwich to Milford) bans all commercial vehicles -- including Sprinter vans. The same restriction applies to every parkway in the system: Hutchinson River, Saw Mill River, Henry Hudson, Palisades Interstate, and Long Island's Northern/Southern State. Sprinter groups heading to Connecticut must use I-95 exclusively. Sedans and SUVs benefit from the Merritt's truck-free lanes, often saving 10-15 minutes over I-95.
Corporate Campus Shuttles
Manhattan to IBM Armonk: 40 mi, 60-90 min via FDR to Hutch to I-684. Manhattan to PepsiCo/Mastercard Purchase: 30 mi, 50-75 min. Manhattan to Regeneron Tarrytown: 27 mi, 45-70 min via Henry Hudson/Saw Mill. Manhattan to Verizon Basking Ridge: 42 mi, 65-95 min via Holland Tunnel to I-78 to I-287. Your chauffeur waits at each campus for return trips.
Cross Bronx Bypass
The Cross Bronx Expressway (I-95, 180,000+ vehicles/day) is the primary bottleneck connecting NJ to Connecticut via the GWB. When it congests -- which is most of the day during weekdays -- our chauffeurs use the Deegan Expressway (I-87) to the RFK Bridge as an alternative, or the Hutchinson River Parkway bypass for sedan/SUV Connecticut-bound trips. Surface routes through Pelham can also save 15-20 minutes when the highway is gridlocked.
Event Venue Logistics
MetLife Stadium (82,500 capacity) clears in 2-3 hours post-event. MSG (20,789) gridlocks 7th and 8th Avenue -- use 31st/33rd St side streets. Barclays Center (19,000) congests Atlantic/Flatbush -- stage on Dean St. Prudential Center in Newark (19,500) is adjacent to Newark Penn Station. USTA/US Open causes Grand Central Parkway gridlock for two weeks in September. We pre-stage at all venues.
Toll & Crossing Costs
Port Authority crossings (GWB, Lincoln, Holland) charge $16.00 E-ZPass peak / $12.75 off-peak (eastbound only). MTA crossings (Throgs Neck, Whitestone, RFK Bridge) are $7.50 E-ZPass. The Mario Cuomo Bridge (Westchester to Rockland) is $5.35 E-ZPass. All toll costs are factored into your quote -- the NJ surcharge ($20) covers Hudson River crossing tolls for NJ trips.
How It Works
Four steps from booking to arrival. The entire process takes under two minutes online -- regardless of which state you are in.
Reserve Online
Enter your tri-state pickup address -- whether it is a Greenwich estate, a Parsippany corporate campus, or a Manhattan hotel. Select your vehicle (sedan, SUV, or sprinter) and get an instant flat-rate quote including all tolls and surcharges.
Add Details
Include flight numbers for airport transfers, train arrival times for station pickups, event end times for venue pickups, or multi-stop itineraries for hourly bookings. Specify vehicle restrictions if your route involves parkways (Merritt, Hutchinson, Saw Mill).
Chauffeur Arrives
Your vetted chauffeur arrives at your exact location across any of the three states -- office lobby, home driveway, train station platform, or FBO tarmac. You receive a text with vehicle details, chauffeur name, and direct contact number.
Cross-State Transfer
Your chauffeur navigates the optimal crossing -- GWB, Lincoln, Holland, Throgs Neck, or Mario Cuomo Bridge -- using real-time traffic data. Parkway restrictions, toll lanes, and alternate routes are handled automatically. Luggage assistance included at all stops.
Transparent Policies
Airport Wait Time
We monitor your flight in real-time across all five airports. For domestic arrivals, your chauffeur waits up to 45 minutes after landing at no charge. For international arrivals, up to 60 minutes. If your flight is delayed or diverted, we adjust automatically -- whether you are landing at JFK, Newark, LaGuardia, HPN, or Teterboro.
Cross-State Pricing
All quotes include tolls for bridges, tunnels, and turnpikes. The NJ surcharge ($20) covers Hudson River crossing tolls for trips with a New Jersey pickup or drop-off. Connecticut and Westchester trips use toll-free parkways or include applicable tolls in the quote. No surprise charges -- the price at booking is the price you pay.
Cancellation Tiers
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup for all tri-state routes. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a partial charge. No-shows are charged the full fare. All cancellation policies are confirmed at booking regardless of pickup state.
Vehicle Restrictions
When booking a Sprinter van for Connecticut or Westchester destinations, your chauffeur automatically routes via I-95 (avoiding banned parkways). Sedans and SUVs have no restrictions and can use the faster Merritt/Hutchinson routing. Vehicle selection guidance is provided during the booking process.
