How much is a car service from Staten Island to Newark Airport?

The price depends on the address, the terminal, the time and the vehicle class. The table shows example all-in prices from /book on a weekday morning: the St. George Ferry Terminal to Terminal C, Staten Island University Hospital on Seaview Avenue to Terminal B, and a Terminal A arrival to the Staten Island Mall.

The Goethals Bridge toll, taxes and fees are in the price, and gratuity is optional. Newark lists taxi estimates to New Jersey towns and Manhattan zones, but not to Staten Island, and transit between the two needs several changes. A booked car is the simplest way to cover this short drive with bags.

Your Staten Island pickup

Your chauffeur picks you up at the exact Staten Island address you enter: a house in Todt Hill or Tottenville, an apartment in St. George, the ferry terminal or a hospital entrance. Add the entrance, the gate or a cross street in the booking notes. For larger places, name the building or the door.

How long is the drive from Staten Island to Newark?

Without traffic, Staten Island to Newark Airport is about 25 to 31 minutes and 12.5 to 15 miles, by routing estimates for the three trips below. That makes Newark the closest major airport for most of Staten Island. The Staten Island Expressway and the Goethals Bridge approach are slow at rush hour, so plan for more.

TripDistanceDrive time without traffic
St. George Ferry Terminal to Terminal C15.2 miabout 31 min (estimate)
Terminal A to the Staten Island Mall, arrival12.5 miabout 25 min (estimate)
Staten Island University Hospital to Terminal B15.0 miabout 29 min (estimate)

Drive times are estimates (OSRM free-flow routing with no traffic, checked Oct 30, 2026). Traffic varies, and rush hour, weather, tunnel delays and airport construction add time.

When should I leave Staten Island for Newark?

Work back from the time your airline asks you to be at the airport, then add the drive estimate and a traffic buffer. The Staten Island Expressway is slow on weekday mornings and afternoons, and bridge work can add time. If you are unsure, choose an earlier pickup; your pickup has a 15-minute grace period.

Which route does the chauffeur take, and what tolls apply?

From Staten Island, the chauffeur takes the Staten Island Expressway (I-278) west to the Goethals Bridge, then Route 439 or I-278 in Elizabeth and US 1 and 9 north to the airport. From the South Shore, the Outerbridge Crossing is another way into New Jersey. The driver picks by traffic.

Road or crossingWhat it does on this tripToll
Staten Island Expressway (I-278)Main road west across the islandNo toll
Goethals BridgeCrosses the Arthur Kill to ElizabethNo toll toward New Jersey; toll entering New York
Outerbridge CrossingSouth Shore option into New JerseyNo toll toward New Jersey; toll entering New York
US 1 and 9Last miles to the Newark terminalsNo toll

The Port Authority collects tolls on the Goethals Bridge and Outerbridge Crossing only from drivers entering New York (panynj.gov). So the toll applies on the ride home from Newark, and it is already in the price. Staten Island is outside the Manhattan Congestion Relief Zone, so that charge does not apply.

Where will my chauffeur meet me when I land at Newark Airport?

On the ride home, the meeting point comes first. The chauffeur tracks your flight into Newark, so you can collect your bags before you call. The default pickup is the arrivals curb at Terminal A or B. At Newark Terminal C, your chauffeur meets you at the arrivals curb or in the Terminal C Garage, Level 3. Meet and greet puts the chauffeur inside with a name sign.

  1. Add your airline and flight number when you book. The chauffeur tracks the flight from takeoff.
  2. After landing, collect your bags at Terminal A, B or C and call 888-887-0324 or the chauffeur number in your booking.
  3. At Terminal A or B, walk to the arrivals curb. At Newark Terminal C, your chauffeur meets you at the arrivals curb or in the Terminal C Garage, Level 3.
  4. With meet and greet ($25), the chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name sign and walks you to the car.

How does waiting time work?

Waiting time depends on the pickup. Home, hotel and office pickups have a 15-minute grace period, after which waiting time applies. Airport arrivals have a 60-minute wait time after a domestic landing and a 90-minute wait time after an international landing, counted from when the flight lands, and every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so an early or late flight moves your pickup with it.
