How long is the drive from Newark Airport to the Financial District?
Without traffic, Newark Airport to the Financial District is about 25 to 27 minutes and 13 to 13.5 miles, by routing estimates for the three trips below. It is the shortest Manhattan run from Newark, because the Holland Tunnel comes out at Canal Street. Rush hours and the tunnel queue in Jersey City add time.
| Trip | Distance | Drive time without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal C to the New York Stock Exchange | 13.2 mi | about 27 min (estimate) |
| Terminal A to The Beekman | 13.6 mi | about 27 min (estimate) |
| Terminal B to Brookfield Place | 13.2 mi | about 25 min (estimate) |
Drive times are estimates (OSRM free-flow routing with no traffic, checked Oct 30, 2026). Traffic varies, and rush hour, weather, tunnel delays and airport construction add time.
Which route does the chauffeur take, and what tolls apply?
Downtown trips from Newark use the Holland Tunnel. The chauffeur takes US 1 and 9 north, Route 139 through Jersey City and I-78 into the tunnel, which comes out at Canal Street. From there, the West Side Highway leads to Brookfield Place and the World Trade Center, and Broadway or Church Street lead to Wall Street.
| Road or crossing | What it does on this trip | Toll |
|---|---|---|
| US 1 and 9 | Main road north from the airport | No toll |
| Route 139 and I-78 | Approach to the Holland Tunnel through Jersey City | No toll |
| Holland Tunnel | Crosses the Hudson to Canal Street | Toll entering New York |
| West Side Highway (Route 9A) | Runs south to Battery Park City and the World Trade Center | No toll |
The Port Authority collects the Holland Tunnel toll only from drivers entering New York (panynj.gov), and it is already in your price. All of Lower Manhattan is in the MTA Congestion Relief Zone, where black car trips carry a $0.75 charge per trip (MTA). That is in the price too.
Car service, train and PATH, or taxi from Newark to downtown?
The transit route to Lower Manhattan is NJ TRANSIT to Newark Penn Station and then PATH to the World Trade Center. Newark lists that trip at about 45 minutes. It means the AirTrain, a train and a transfer with your bags. A car goes from your terminal pickup point to your downtown door in one ride.
| Option | Door to door | Transfers | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private car service | Yes, terminal pickup point to your door | None | Bags, families, late arrivals, offices |
| NJ TRANSIT and PATH | No, ends at the World Trade Center | AirTrain, train, then PATH | Light luggage near the World Trade Center |

Where will the chauffeur drop me in the Financial District?
Downtown streets are narrow, and some are closed to cars. The blocks around the New York Stock Exchange on Wall and Broad Streets have security barriers, so the chauffeur stops at the nearest open corner. Give the building name and entrance, and the car goes to the closest legal stop to your door.
| Downtown drop-off | Tip |
|---|---|
| New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street | Name the building; the car stops at an open corner near the security zone |
| World Trade Center and Brookfield Place | Name the tower or Vesey Street side |
| Hotels such as The Beekman | Give the hotel name; the car uses the main entrance |
| Tribeca and SoHo lofts | Add the cross street; many streets are one-way |
How does waiting time work?
Waiting time depends on the pickup. Home, hotel and office pickups have a 15-minute grace period, after which waiting time applies. Airport arrivals have a 60-minute wait time after a domestic landing and a 90-minute wait time after an international landing, counted from when the flight lands, and every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so an early or late flight moves your pickup with it.
| Pickup type | Grace period or wait time |
|---|---|
| Regular pickup (home, hotel, office) | 15 minutes |
| Domestic flight arrival | 60 minutes after landing |
| International flight arrival | 90 minutes after landing |
| Flight tracking | Included on airport pickups |
See the wait time policy for the full terms, and add meet and greet if you want the chauffeur inside the terminal.

Can I book a multi-leg trip?
Yes. A multi-leg trip puts several stops or legs on one booking, such as a stop at a Financial District office, then a hotel in Tribeca. Add each stop at /book and the all-in price covers the whole trip. If the car should wait at a stop, hourly service at $120 per hour, 3-hour minimum, may fit better.
