How long is the drive from LaGuardia to Midtown?

Without traffic, LaGuardia to Midtown is about 18 to 20 minutes and 9.5 miles, by routing estimates for the three trips below. The Queens-Midtown Tunnel comes out in the East 30s, and the last part is crosstown to Times Square or the West Side. Rush hours, show nights and big events add time.

Which route does the chauffeur take, and what tolls apply?

For Midtown and the West Side, the chauffeur usually takes the Grand Central Parkway and the BQE to the Long Island Expressway and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. The tunnel comes out near East 36th Street, then the car crosses town on 34th or 42nd Street. The Queensboro Bridge, with no toll, is the alternative.

The MTA tolls the Queens-Midtown Tunnel in both directions (MTA), and the toll is in your price. Midtown below 60th Street is in the MTA Congestion Relief Zone, where black car trips carry a $0.75 charge per trip (MTA). That is in the price too.

Car service, bus or taxi from LaGuardia to Times Square?

LaGuardia has no train, so transit to Times Square means the free Q70 bus to Jackson Heights and then the subway. The MTA lists the Q70 at about 15 minutes, then a subway ride into Midtown. With bags or after a long flight, a car goes from the terminal pickup point to your hotel in one ride.

Where will the chauffeur drop me in Midtown?

Midtown drop-offs depend on the building. Broadway through Times Square has pedestrian plazas, so cars stop on side streets or at hotel entrances. The Javits Center has its own drive on the West Side. Give the hotel or venue name and entrance, and the chauffeur goes to the closest legal stop.

Midtown drop-offTip
Times Square hotels such as the Marriott MarquisGive the hotel name; the car uses the hotel entrance or a side street
Javits CenterSay which hall or entrance; show days are busy on Eleventh Avenue
Madison Square Garden and Penn StationSay Seventh or Eighth Avenue; event nights close lanes

How does waiting time work?

Waiting time depends on the pickup. Home, hotel and office pickups have a 15-minute grace period, after which waiting time applies. Airport arrivals have a 60-minute wait time after a domestic landing and a 90-minute wait time after an international landing, counted from when the flight lands, and every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so an early or late flight moves your pickup with it.

Regular pickup (home, hotel, office)15 minutes
Domestic flight arrival60 minutes after landing
International flight arrival90 minutes after landing
Flight trackingIncluded on airport pickups

See the wait time policy for the full terms, and add meet and greet if you want the chauffeur inside the terminal.
