How long is the drive from LaGuardia to Manhattan?
Without traffic, LaGuardia to Manhattan is about 15 minutes to Midtown and about 20 to 26 minutes to SoHo and the Financial District, by routing estimates for the three trips below. LaGuardia is the closest airport to Manhattan, but the Grand Central Parkway and the bridges are slow at rush hour, so plan for more.
| Trip | Distance | Drive time without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal B to The Plaza (Fifth Avenue) | 7.4 mi | about 15 min (estimate) |
| Terminal B to the Soho Grand Hotel | 9.9 mi | about 20 min (estimate) |
| Terminal C to One World Trade Center | 11.6 mi | about 26 min (estimate) |
Drive times are estimates (OSRM free-flow routing with no traffic, checked Oct 30, 2026). Traffic varies, and rush hour, weather, tunnel delays and airport construction add time.
Which route does the chauffeur take, and what tolls apply?
The bridge or tunnel depends on where you are going. For Midtown East and the Upper East Side, the chauffeur takes the Grand Central Parkway and the BQE to the Queensboro Bridge, which has no toll. For SoHo and downtown, the Williamsburg Bridge is often quicker. For Midtown West, the Queens-Midtown Tunnel is an option.
| Road or crossing | What it does on this trip | Toll |
|---|---|---|
| Grand Central Parkway and BQE (I-278) | Main roads from LaGuardia toward Manhattan | No toll |
| Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge | Midtown East and the Upper East Side | No toll |
| Williamsburg Bridge | SoHo, the Lower East Side and downtown | No toll |
| Queens-Midtown Tunnel | Midtown in the 30s and 40s | MTA toll in both directions |
The East River bridges have no toll, while the MTA tolls the Queens-Midtown Tunnel in both directions (MTA). Manhattan at or below 60th Street is in the MTA Congestion Relief Zone, where black car trips carry a $0.75 charge per trip (MTA). Any of these is in your price.
Car service, bus or taxi from LaGuardia to Manhattan?
LaGuardia has no train, so transit means a bus first. The free Q70 bus runs from Terminals B and C to the subway at Jackson Heights in about 15 minutes, then a subway ride into Manhattan. The M60 bus runs to 125th Street in Harlem. A car goes from the terminal pickup point to your door in one ride.
| Option | Door to door | Transfers | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private car service | Yes, terminal pickup point to your door | None | Bags, families, late arrivals |
| Q70 bus and subway | No | Bus, then subway | Light luggage, Midtown or Queens |
| M60 bus | No, ends in Harlem and Upper Manhattan | One bus, plus subway for most trips | Harlem and Morningside Heights |
| Taxi | Yes, from the taxi stand | None | No booking; meter plus fees and tolls |

Which Manhattan neighborhoods are quickest from LaGuardia?
East Side neighborhoods are the quickest from LaGuardia, because the Queensboro Bridge lands in the East 50s and 60s. Midtown, Chelsea and the West Side take a little longer, and downtown takes the most time. The table shows our example drop-offs by area, with routing estimates and the crossing the chauffeur usually uses.
| Manhattan area | Usual crossing | Drive without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Upper East Side and Midtown East | Queensboro Bridge | About 15 min |
| Midtown West and Times Square | Queens-Midtown Tunnel or Queensboro Bridge | About 15 to 20 min |
| SoHo and the Lower East Side | Williamsburg Bridge | About 20 min |
| Financial District and World Trade Center | Williamsburg Bridge | About 26 min |
How does waiting time work?
Waiting time depends on the pickup. Home, hotel and office pickups have a 15-minute grace period, after which waiting time applies. Airport arrivals have a 60-minute wait time after a domestic landing and a 90-minute wait time after an international landing, counted from when the flight lands, and every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so an early or late flight moves your pickup with it.
| Pickup type | Grace period or wait time |
|---|---|
| Regular pickup (home, hotel, office) | 15 minutes |
| Domestic flight arrival | 60 minutes after landing |
| International flight arrival | 90 minutes after landing |
| Flight tracking | Included on airport pickups |
See the wait time policy for the full terms, and add meet and greet if you want the chauffeur inside the terminal.

Can I book a multi-leg trip?
Yes. A multi-leg trip puts several stops or legs on one booking, such as a bag drop at a Midtown hotel, then a meeting downtown. Add each stop at /book and the all-in price covers the whole trip. If the car should wait at a stop, hourly service at $120 per hour, 3-hour minimum, may fit better.
