Taxes and fees are in the price, and gratuity is optional. For a taxi comparison, check the current estimates on the jfkairport.com taxi page; tolls, tip and other fees are extra. JFK also warns that construction can slow terminal pickups.
Your Brooklyn pickup
Your chauffeur picks you up at the exact Brooklyn address you enter: a brownstone in Park Slope, a loft in Williamsburg, a hotel in Downtown Brooklyn or an arena like Barclays Center. Add the entrance, a buzzer note or a cross street in the booking notes. For hotels and venues, give the name and the door.
| Brooklyn pickup | Pickup tip |
|---|---|
| Barclays Center | Name the entrance, as Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues are busy on event nights |
| Hotels in Downtown Brooklyn and DUMBO | Give the hotel name; the car comes to the main entrance |
| Williamsburg and Greenpoint | Add the cross street; many streets are one-way |
| Brownstone streets in Park Slope and Bed-Stuy | Give the house number and the nearest avenue |
How long is the drive from Brooklyn to JFK?
Without traffic, Brooklyn to JFK is about 28 to 29 minutes and 14 to 18.5 miles, by routing estimates for the four trips below. Central Brooklyn uses local avenues and the Belt or Conduit to the Van Wyck, and north Brooklyn uses the BQE and the expressways. The Belt and the Van Wyck are slow at rush hour.
| Trip | Distance | Drive time without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Barclays Center to Terminal 4 | 14.0 mi | about 29 min (estimate) |
| Terminal 8 to the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, arrival | 18.5 mi | about 29 min (estimate) |
| The William Vale to Terminal 5 | 15.4 mi | about 28 min (estimate) |
| New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge to Terminal 1 | 17.3 mi | about 29 min (estimate) |
Drive times are estimates (OSRM free-flow routing with no traffic, checked Oct 30, 2026). Traffic varies, and rush hour, weather, tunnel delays and airport construction add time.
When should I leave Brooklyn for JFK?
Work back from the time your airline asks you to be at the airport, then add the drive estimate and a traffic buffer. The Belt Parkway and the Van Wyck are slow on weekday afternoons, and JFK construction can add time at the terminals. If you are unsure, choose an earlier pickup; your pickup has a 15-minute grace period.
Which route does the chauffeur take, and what tolls apply?
The route depends on where in Brooklyn you start. From Barclays Center and central Brooklyn, the chauffeur takes Flatbush or Atlantic Avenue east to the Conduit and the Van Wyck. From Williamsburg and DUMBO, the BQE, the Long Island Expressway or the Jackie Robinson Parkway and the Van Wyck are often quicker.
| Road or crossing | What it does on this trip | Toll |
|---|---|---|
| Flatbush or Atlantic Avenue | Central Brooklyn east toward Queens | No toll |
| Conduit Avenue or the Belt Parkway | East to the airport | No toll |
| BQE (I-278) | North Brooklyn toward the Queens expressways | No toll |
| Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) | Last miles to the JFK terminals | No toll |
These routes have no tolls in either direction, and they stay outside the Manhattan Congestion Relief Zone, so that charge does not apply. If traffic sends the chauffeur another way, any toll is in your price, and you see the all-in price before you book.
Where will my chauffeur meet me when I land at JFK?
On the ride home, the meeting point comes first. The chauffeur tracks your flight into JFK, so you can collect your bags before you call. At Terminals 1, 4 and 8, the car meets you at the arrivals curb. At Terminals 5 and 7, take the free AirTrain to the Howard Beach lot, where the chauffeur meets you.
- Add your airline and flight number when you book. The chauffeur tracks the flight from takeoff.
- After landing, collect your bags and call 888-887-0324 or the chauffeur number in your booking.
- At Terminals 1, 4 and 8, walk out to the arrivals curb. At Terminals 5 and 7, take the free AirTrain to the Howard Beach lot, where the car meets you.
- With meet and greet ($25), the chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name sign and walks you to the car.

Waiting time depends on the pickup. Home, hotel and office pickups have a 15-minute grace period, after which waiting time applies. Airport arrivals have a 60-minute wait time after a domestic landing and a 90-minute wait time after an international landing, counted from when the flight lands, and every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so an early or late flight moves your pickup with it.
| Pickup type | Grace period or wait time |
|---|---|
| Regular pickup (home, hotel, office) | 15 minutes |
| Domestic flight arrival | 60 minutes after landing |
| International flight arrival | 90 minutes after landing |
| Flight tracking | Included on airport pickups |
See the wait time policy for the full terms.
