2026 US Open Transportation Guide: Parking, Pickup, Transit & Arthur Ashe Travel

The 2026 US Open runs August 23 through September 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. For cars, the most important rule is simple: official black-car pickup and drop-off is at the New York Hall of Science parking lot—not the Arthur Ashe Stadium curb.

This guide covers current parking rules, Mets conflict dates, public transit, match scheduling, airport planning, bags, and when a reservation-based car makes sense.

The Short Answer: How to Get There

Public transit

The US Open recommends mass transit. Take the 7 train or LIRR to Mets-Willets Point, then follow signs to the grounds.

Black car or rideshare

Use the NY Hall of Science lot for pickup and drop-off. Plan for the walk to Champion’s Entry or request the assistance shuttle.

Driving and parking

Official parking is $40 per vehicle. The assigned parking zone changes when the Mets have a home game.

Where Is the Official US Open Black-Car Pickup?

The official 2026 transportation page directs all rideshare providers—including black-car services—and taxis to the parking lot within the New York Hall of Science. A direct path links the lot to the Champion's Entry. The tournament also says a complimentary shuttle is available for guests who need assistance.

1

Save the correct meeting point

Use the New York Hall of Science vehicle area, not Arthur Ashe Stadium, as the operational pickup and drop-off point.

2

Choose one passenger contact

Give the dispatcher one phone number for the group and agree on text or call updates before entering the grounds.

3

Keep the pickup flexible

Tennis can end early, run late, or pause. Confirm waiting, overtime, and time-change terms in writing before match day.

Recheck the official US Open transportation page on the day of travel because traffic controls and vehicle instructions may change. View official guidance.

US Open Transportation FAQ

Where do black cars pick up and drop off at the 2026 US Open?

The US Open directs rideshare, taxi, and black-car vehicles to the parking lot within the New York Hall of Science. A direct walking path connects the lot with the Champion’s Entry, and the tournament lists a complimentary assistance shuttle for guests who need it. Do not plan on an Arthur Ashe Stadium curbside pickup.

How much is official US Open parking in 2026?

The official transportation page lists paid parking at $40 for vehicles and $80 for buses. On non-Mets dates, drivers are directed to Mets Stadium Yellow Zone parking. On Mets conflict dates, drivers are directed to Blue or Orange Zone parking. Parking is card-only, and advance payment is available only through the separate Shops at Skyview option.

What are the 2026 US Open dates?

The tournament runs August 23 through September 13, 2026. Fan Week begins August 23, the singles main draw begins August 30, the women’s singles final is September 12, and the men’s singles final is September 13. Always confirm the session time shown on the ticket and the official order of play.

Is a car service or public transit better for the US Open?

The tournament recommends mass transit for most attendees because parking is limited. The 7 train and Long Island Rail Road both serve Mets-Willets Point. A reserved car is useful for airport arrivals, families, groups, corporate guests, travelers with accessibility needs, and late-night or multi-stop itineraries. Choose a car for coordination and comfort, not as a promise to bypass event traffic.

Can I bring airport luggage into the US Open?

Do not plan to bring large luggage to the grounds. The tournament says both entrances have bag checks and that large bags and other materials are prohibited. Recheck the official A–Z Guide and arrange hotel or permitted luggage storage before the ride to the tennis center.

How should I plan a ride after a US Open night session?

Confirm the Hall of Science meeting area, one passenger contact, and the driver communication plan before entering. Match end times are unpredictable, so ask how waiting, overtime, and pickup-time changes are handled. Recheck official instructions on the day of travel.
